Sean Hannity posted a clip to his Facebook page highlighting a very interesting part of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s presser earlier. This was in regards to the looting that took place last night at many high-end stores in the city of Chicago.
We earlier reported that Mayor Lightfoot has changed her tune and is now directing attorneys and judges to throw the book so to speak at those arrested in last night’s looting. There seemed to be a bit of hypocrisy even in her recent speech, where she draws a distinction between felon looting and poor people stealing food to feed their families.
Although we have compassion for the poor ourselves here at Media Right News, we don’t condone lawless looting regardless of the reason. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took flak for a similar statement about people ‘stealing bread‘.
Regardless though, Lightfoot is still attempting to take a tougher stance. But one reporter wanted to know if she had been tougher from the beginning of the riots and looting if things would have ever gotten this bad. Lightfoot did not like being called out on the floor one bit.
“Don’t bait us”, she said. But she did not acknowledge whether or not the reporter had a point. She went off on a rant about not pitting officials against each other and finally the reporter said he wasn’t trying to bait her at all. The Officer who spoke did acknowledge that previously criminals did not face the justice needed in prior instances. WATCH:
Earlier today we also reported in part:
Mayor Lori Lightfoot is changing her tune. After orchestrated looting and violence against police happened last night in Chicago Illinois, lighting Twitter ablaze with viral posts and videos, it seems Lightfoot is feeling the heat. She finally is starting to sound like he is wanting to stop crime in Chicago.
Clearly the Mayor isn’t going to acknowledge potential mistakes made, but time will tell if she steps up to clean up the streets of Chicago, Illinois or if this is just another PR stunt to keep the critics off her back.
