U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) slammed Republicans in the Senate who are helping Democrats “pass gun control” while the Supreme Court is “defending the second amendment.”
On Tuesday, the Senate took the first procedural step in passing the bipartisan gun safety bill when it voted 64-34 in favor of advancing the legislation.
The Senate is then expected to take a second procedural vote on the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to wrap up the debate on the bill today.
Assuming that the vote will net more than 60 votes in favor, the filibuster will break and the Senate can then vote on the final passage of the bill and send it to the House for its vote.
As we reported earlier, the Supreme Court struck down a New York gun-control law today that required people to show “proper cause” to get a license to carry a concealed handgun outside the home in a 6-3 vote.
“While Republicans in the Senate are helping Democrats pass gun control, SCOTUS is defending the Second Amendment,” Greene said in a tweet.

U.S. House Rep Bob Good (R-VA) sent a similar message in a tweet as he said, “Today, SCOTUS has sent a clear reminder that politicians cannot trample on the Constitution or ignore the 2nd Amendment.”
“Senate ‘Republicans’ in the Surrender Caucus take note!” Good declared.

During a press conference yesterday, which Greene also spoke at, U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) acknowledged the possibility that Republicans in the House may vote for the measure if it’s passed in the Senate.
“Iâm sure weâll even see some in the House, unfortunately, who have touted their support of the Second Amendment and Americans to have the right to keep and bear arms and they will fold,” Boebert lamented.
