In a testy exchange, ABC’s White House correspondent Jon Karl attempted a gotcha moment by asking White House Press Secretary to clarify for President Trump when he said that everybody would be getting a ballot in California.
She responded that “there is an executive order that was put into place recently by Gavin Newsom that would auto-send to voter rolls and that would lead to what the president was suggesting.”
She attempted to move on but he objected saying that it wasn’t “to everyone, just registered voters.” She replied “yes, to everyone including dead people on the voter rolls including the mysterious 112% in LA county, that’s not just everyone, that’s an everyone plus an extra 12% and if you are not concerned with that, I’m sorry.”
She turned it back on him with a reference to the Russia probe by saying that “the media is very concerned about the security of our elections, but when it comes to mail-in ballots, all of a sudden the concern for election security just melts away.”
"The President said California was sending out ballots to everybody in the state. That is a false statement. Will he correct that?"
