During a recent episode of her podcast, Megyn Kelly took a swipe at Chris Wallace while describing how she turned down a “huge offer” to work for CNN.
The discussion occurred during a Friday interview with conservative commentator Buck Sexton about the rough debut for CNN+.
Kelly wondered, “Who is the moron at CNN who actually thought, ‘you know what we need with our ratings in the toilet?’ More of us. We need more CNN.”
After Sexton mentioned Elon Musk and various CNN hosts, CNN+’s hire of Wallace came up.
“He was in last place every week, every year, every month. He was always in last, and they still paid him,” Kelly explained, referring to when she worked at Fox News prior to her departure.
Kelly then claimed, “I considered going to CNN. CNN made me a huge offer. Huge.”
Instead, Kelly turned it down, she said, “because I knew: who is my fanbase going to be over there? I knew who my fans were and I knew that my Fox viewers were not going to follow me to CNN and that the CNN viewers were going to hate my guts.”
Kelly added that she believes Wallace is “suffering from that very problem right now.”
As we reported last week, fewer than 10,000 people were reportedly tuning into CNN+ on a daily basis two weeks into its existence.
One left-wing Twitter user appeared to confirm Kelly’s suspicions as they suggested, “Chris Wallace is finding out the hard way what Megyn Kelly learned when her NBC show tanked: You can leave the network, but you will never get the Fox News stink off of you.”
“CNN is also finding out that not everyone wants to watch their Fox News Lite lineup. #DemVoice1,” they insisted.
