According to the Rolling Stone, Mickey Dolenz from ”The Monkees” is now taking on the FBI.
Dolenz is the only surviving member of the group and the 77-year-old had now filed a lawsuit against the agency.
A tiny portion of the band’s FBI file was released to the public a little over a decade ago and it accused the band of spreading messages that constituted “left wing intervention of a political nature.”
Attorney Mark Zaid filed the suit on Dolenz’ behalf and he confirmed the announcement in a tweet.
“I have been a #Monkees’ fan since early 1970s so it is an absolutely pleasure to be representing @TheMickyDolenz1 in a #FOIA lawsuit against @FBI.”
“Why was the #FBI monitoring the band back in late 1960s? We will find out!”
“Thank you to @RollingStone!”

While it appears that in the past the FBI may have been weaponized against the left, many might now believe it to be the opposite.
Like the Mar-a-Lago raid affidavit, the public, seven-page Monkees document is heavily redacted, and it refers to a second document that was “redacted entirely.”
