Set to be Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday, Naomi Judd Has Passed Away at 76

It was announced that Naomi Judd passed away at the age of 76. Judd’s daughters released a statement to the Associated Press.

“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”

Judd was Grammy award-winning country artist. Judd performed in a duo with her daughter Wynonna Judd. She is also the mother of the actress Ashley Judd.

Naomi had been battling crippling depression, something she had made public calling it, “debilitating and life-threatening”.

Judd had just come out of retirement and had announced a tour with her daughter that was set to start later this year. The pair performed at the CMA’s earlier this month, you can see their performance below.
