Last month, U.S. House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) blasted Dr. Anthony Fauci during a hearing for his stance on COVID-19 restrictions and continued mask-wearing.
Today, Jordan shared an article that reported on Fauci’s suggestion that mask-wearing may become seasonal, even after the Coronavirus is effectively neutralized.
“No.” Jordan said simply in the tweet.

Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press” yesterday, Fauci said Americans over the course of the pandemic have gotten used to wearing face coverings, which “diminishes respiratory diseases.”
“We’ve had practically a non-existent flu season this year merely because people were doing the kinds of public health things that were directed predominantly against COVID-19,” Fauci claimed.
From the New York Post:
“So it is conceivable that as we go on, a year or two or more from now, that during certain seasonal periods when you have respiratory-borne viruses like the flu, people might actually elect to wear masks to diminish the likelihood that you’ll spread these respiratory-borne diseases,” Fauci continued.
He also predicted that we won’t see another surge in COVID-19 cases this fall if the majority of Americans get the vaccine.
Previously, we reported:
A curious Jim Jordan wanted to know when mask-wearing and COVID guidelines could end and what exactly has to happen in order for in his words, our liberty to be restored. Jordan asked, “What is ‘low enough’? Give me a number!”. That was a response to when Dr. Fauci said that COVID numbers have to be low however didn’t give an exact number on the answer to how low which angered the passionate conservative.
Rep. Jordan went on, “Fifteen days to slow the spread turned into one year of lost liberty,”. However, Dr. Fauci didn’t see it the same way as he responded, “You know, you’re indicating liberty and freedom, but I look at it as a public health measure to keep people from dying and going to the hospital.”
During the exchange, Jim Jordan got heated and yelled, “You don’t think Americans’ liberties have been threatened in the last year, Dr. Fauci?! They’ve been assaulted!” As you can see, this turned into a tense argument with two different views concerning COVID-19.
Dr. Fauci replied, “This will end for sure when we get the level of infection very low,”. Following that Rep. Waters (D-CA) told Jordan, “You need to respect the chair and shut your mouth,” as he spoke over his allotted time.
