On Final Day As WH Press Secretary, Jen Psaki Swears That Washington Isn’t as ‘Rotten’ or ‘Corrupt’ as Everyone Says it is

White House press secretary Jen Psaki held her final press briefing today before her deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre takes over after being appointed by Joe Biden.

During the briefing, Psaki gave her opinion on what things were like in the nation’s capital during her time in the position.

Psaki began, “People always ask me and I’m sure you guys always get asked this too” referencing the reporters in the room.

“About whether Washington is rotten, you know, whether everybody is corrupt here, and you know, nothing good happens here and we all just argue with each other,” Psaki continued.

Psaki swore that “And I having done this job, believe the absolute opposite is true.”

“Because I have worked with and engaged with all these incredible people across the administration and this amazing team, many of whom are here that I get to work with every day,” Psaki explained.

Referencing Jean-Pierre, Psaki got emotional and concluded, “As I said about Karine last week, these people are already the stars of the team, but they are going to be shining stars in the future and I’m going to miss them all, okay, whew.”

Psaki has been reflecting on her time at the White House and was asked yesterday by Linda Feldman, Christian Science Monitor’s Washington bureau chief, during an event hosted by the news organization, “Are you going to miss Peter Doocy?”

“I will. I will tell you, and people know this who are covering the White House every day, I think we have a very good, professional relationship,” Psaki responded.

While Psaki hasn’t announced what her next role will be, reports say that MSNBC will be her next landing spot.
