In another apparent case of a fake hate crime, police in Fairfax, Virginia said that they found no evidence of a hate crime following “Islamophobia” accusations over a fight at Fairfax High School.
The investigation by the Fairfax City Police Department revealed there were no racial comments made by either student.
The female student who allegedly was the victim of the hateful comments confirmed that “her hijab became partially undone during the altercation, exposing her hair.”
She also told the police that allegations of racial slurs that were supposedly used during the altercation and circulating on social media were false.

The allegations ultimately led to “Approx. 350 students” who were “exercising their right to protest” in front of the school.
The situation doesn’t appear to be over, however, as Abed Ayoub, legal director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, who represents a 16-year-old Black, Muslim American sophomore at Fairfax High School, says the Fairfax City Police were premature in ruling out hate crime charges.
Ayoub claimed, “There’s multiple witnesses who can attest to racist and Islamophobic comments and overtures being made immediately prior to the incident into the assault.”
Ayoub added that his client spent the evening following the fight in the emergency room and that medical reports showing contusions and bruises were given to police.
Video of the protest was shared by the MOMNetwork, who reported on it in a post:
Students at a Fairfax High School are protesting over an incident that happened on 12/14 -There is a petition going around that says the following: “On Dec.14, 2021 at Fairfax High School (not naming) assaulted a student. Named racial slurs, used an immense amount of Islamophobia, knocked her out, and took off her hijab. Leaving her exposed without her scarf for everyone to see. An ambulance was called into the school for a panic attack when they really should have been told this was an assault. As the victim forever has this moment engraved in her mind. (not naming) has already returned to school with no consequences. This is not right, this should have never happened, and the school is covering this up. As you sign this petition we plan to show whoever we can that (Not naming) and the school needs to take accountability for this disgusting incident. We plan on doing whatever we can to get justice and make our schools feel safe again.”Not sure where the petition is located – someone screenshot the page and shared with me. Students are organizing – they are frustrated and want to be heard and seen. I am proud of them and support their right to be heard.
