Psaki Announces a Ban on Using Horses in Del Rio, TX and That There is ‘Not an Open Border’

White House press secretary Jen Psaki spoke about the border crisis today at her daily press briefing announced a ban on using horses in Del Rio, Texas and she also insisted that there is “not an open border.”

Newsbusters’ Curtis Houck shared a clip of Psaki announcing the ban on horses.

In the tweet of the clip, Houck reported, “Jen Psaki announces that horses will now be BANNED from being used in Del Rio by Border Patrol agents, citing the ‘horrible and horrific’ use of them to prevent Haitian illegal immigrants from crossing into the U.S.”

“So, to recap, the Biden administration has announced that horses are now racist!” Houck added.

“Proud American” and verified Twitter user Katie Pavlich reported on Psaki’s statement about the border not being open in a tweet as well.

“Psaki: ‘There is certainly not an open border.’ This is so obviously false. The border is completely open and overrun,” Pavlich said in the tweet.

Psaki had made the comment in response to a question from Fox News’ Peter Doocy where she denied his accusation that there is an “open border.”

At yesterday’s press briefing, Psaki had accused Border Patrol agents of using “brutal” methods against migrants crossing the Rio Grande into Texas.

From National Review:

Psaki said officials had watched “horrific video of the CBP officers on horses using brutal and inappropriate measures against innocent people.” Psaki noted that there is an ongoing “independent investigation” of the incident, and that officers involved “were placed on administrative leave and will not be interacting with any migrants.”

Journalist April Ryan also asked Psaki about border agents using “reins or whips, whatever, with the intent to lash, to hurt people, to keep them away from the border.” Psaki reiterated that the investigation into the agents’ conduct was ongoing, adding later that President Biden was “horrified” at the footage.

It was also reported today that the top US diplomat in Haiti has resigned, citing the “inhumane” decision to deport Haitian migrants at the border.

That announcement has certainly put pressure on the White House and former Trump White House official Kellyanne Conway tweeted about the news, “Can’t wait to see how this is Trump’s fault.”
