Joe Biden and Kamala Harris do not want to appear anti-illegal immigrant to their radical left wing base.
They also do not want to appear to be totally ”open borders” to the moderate voters the Democrats hope to target in this years mid-terms and the 2024 presidential election. In our view they’ve actually managed to fail to do both.
Although “Border Czar” Kamala Harris has been relatively useless in our opinion at stopping the illegal immigration flow, she did halfheartedly tell would be migrants ”do not come”. Although it’s unlikely that has deterred many from actually ”coming”, it sent the wrong virtue signal to the Dems most radical base.
There are some Democrats who don’t feel there should be a limit on immigration into the nation, whether legal or illegal. Those people are not happy that the White House has even pretended to care. That aforementioned group is also not happy that parts of former President Donald Trump’s wall will be quietly finished.
Meanwhile, back in the land of the real world, it’s clear that the Biden regime isn’t interested in actually taking meaningful action at the border. Almost 2 million have illegally crossed, with almost 1 million at least temporarily staying.
Fox News reported in part:
So far this fiscal year, over 920,000 encounters have resulted in a Title 42 expulsion, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP), with about the same number (912,575) processed under what is known as Title 8. However, some will be transferred straight into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody; others can be returned via voluntary return or expedited removal if they either do not claim asylum or do not pass an initial asylum screening.
The border crisis is not sustainable. Many cities are in semi emergency mode as they try to facilitate the influx of immigrants. Democrats seemingly are more worried about votes than keeping the nation working right or having law and order however.
We’ll see soon if this apparent catastrophe actually helps keep Democrats in office longer or not
