Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney on Thursday tweeted out an expletive filled racist letter that he claims is a “sample of the vitriol my office has received over the last few weeks.”
He had a message regarding his decision to remove the local Confederate statues. “To those who still don’t believe these statues are linked to racism: you’re kidding yourself. Richmond, we’ve got work to do,” he said in the post.

Some have been suspicious though of the authenticity of the letter. Earlier the Nationalist Review wrote an article titled, “Did The Mayor Of Richmond, Virginia Orchestrate A Hate Hoax?” and referenced a tweet from Brett MacDonald which said, “Weird how this letter doesn’t have a crease in it.”

Another user pointed out in the replies on the original tweet some similarities between the penmanship on the letter and Stoney’s signature from a document.

MacDonald has tweeted out since the original tweet asking if, “Anyone know someone that does handwriting analysis?” We will update further if anyone is able to verify the authenticity of the letter.
