Former NYC GOP Mayor Rudy Giuliani sent Elton John packing today after the rocker quit Twitter in a huff, telling him to “Stick to singing!”
As we previously reported, Elton John announced his departure in a tweet where he declared, “All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together.”
“Yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world,” John continued.
John concluded, “I’ve decided to no longer use Twitter, given their recent change in policy which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked.”
Giuliani responded to John in a quote tweet, “Hi @EltonOfficial! I admit, I had no idea you even had Twitter until now but I figured you and @ElonMusk—an actual ROCKETMAN—would get along.”
“Boy, this is a far cry from the Elton John who played at both [President] Donald Trump’s and Rush Limbaugh’s weddings,” Giuliani noted.
Giuliani then recommended that John “Stick to singing!”
It remains unclear if John wrote the message himself or perhaps a social media manager composed it at his direction.

Giuliani’s response was different than that of Twitter’s owner Elon Musk, who pleaded with John to stay on the platform and asked him what his issue was.
“I love your music. Hope you come back. Is there any misinformation in particular that you’re concerned about?” Musk wondered.
