Salvation Army Gets Angry Comments on Facebook Post from Alleged Former Donors and Others: ‘Go Woke, Go Broke’, Despite Organization Claiming ‘Guide’ was Mischaracterized

“Let’s Talk About Racism” guide that some claim suggested white people apologize for their race was withdrawn by The Salvation Army after an uproar. The organization says the claims were false, but removed the “guide” anyway, due to controversy.

They posted a long-winded explanation on their website with this explanation:

“UPDATE:

Elements of the recently issued “Let’s Talk About Racism” guide led some to believe we think they should apologize for the color of their skin, or that The Salvation Army may have abandoned its Biblical beliefs for another philosophy or ideology. That was never our intention, so the guide has been removed for appropriate review.

A “Sponsored” Facebook post that appears to have been up for about two weeks, however, shows that potential donors are not ok and still furious with the organization. Below the Facebook post embedded, you can see two screenshots of examples of furious Facebook users.

Although the organization claims false attacks mischaracterized their intentions, a large swath of people seems to feel it wasn’t as simple as that. It’s up to you, the reader, to decide what you think based on their website’s post and all the other information that’s available.

A Wall Street Journal op-ed claimed that “wokeness infiltrated The Salvation Army” in an article here. WSJ isn’t exactly a right-leaning outlet in our view.

This story highlights the divisive nature of political correctness in places many feel it doesn’t belong. The left-right pendulum continues to swing in larger and larger movements in our view, and we hope that somehow the nation can find some unity one day.

We will need to define our borders before that happens in our view, as well as come back to the Bible. Stay tuned for updates.
