FTX linked millionaire Kevin O’Leary, well known for being a co-host of the hit CNBC venture capital investment show Shark Tank, just set Twitter on fire proverbially.
O’Leary is known for his tough, crass attitude and for being one of the harshest critics of some of the entrepreneurs in the aforementioned show.
O’Leary often gets a pass for saying things with shock value because many find it endearing, possibly sarcastic and half-jokingly sometimes, and because the financial and investment world is actually indeed a harsh one.
However, this particular and seemingly “financial advice” tweet seemed a bridge too far. Reply after reply took the venture capitalist to task telling him he is way off base with this one. The tweet in question, which is still live on Twitter simply reads:
“You may lose your wife, you may lose your dog, your mother may hate you. None of those things matter. What matters is that you achieve success and become free. Then you can do whatever you like.”
See a handful of the replies:
O’Leary seems like the type of guy who sticks to his “guns” so it’s unlikely he will delete the tweet, especially since he is engaging with and seems amused by the responses:

Yes, Mr. Dweeb, THEN you can just BUY friends who will PRETEND that they like you, eh? ……. Know the difference? ……. I suspect your family is looking forward to your passing so that THEY can ‘buy more friends’. LOL
