We reported earlier on 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, who has been charged with murder in the killing of two people at the Kenosha riots last night. There are many though, that believe he has a case for self-defense.
New York State Senator and Deputy Majority Leader who represents Queens neighborhoods in NYC, claimed earlier today in a tweet that President Trump emboldened “people like Kyle Rittenhouse” when he was “uplifting the McCloskeys.”
When Trump glorifies one, we inevitably get the other. If you don’t see how uplifting the McCloskeys emboldens people like Kyle Rittenhouse then you’re not paying attention.

Mark and Patricia McCloskey are the St. Louis couple who were filmed pointing guns at Black Lives Matter protesters outside their home in June and they endorsed Trump as the law-and-order candidate for president Monday at the 2020 Republican National Convention.
The president had previously defended them, according to Missouri governor, Mike Parson, who said Trump “doesn’t like what he sees and the way these people are being treated.”
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
Nik Clark, president and CEO of Wisconsin Carry, a gun rights advocacy group, who instructs classes for those obtaining concealed carry permits, thinks Rittenhouse followed the principles of such courses.
“We teach to retreat when possible,” Clark said. “He’s fleeing, but the threat follows him.” He thought Rittenhouse showed restraint in not immediately shooting one of the people he later shot in the elbow after the man first halted his approach to Rittenhouse and then lunged at him.
