Earlier today, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi went on MSNBC and classified President Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress as “enemies of the state” and “domestic enemies” in a rant.
Steve Scalise tweeted out a response saying that her words go beyond politics and referenced the James Hodgkinson Congressional baseball field shooting where he almost lost his life.
“Disgusting: Nancy Pelosi just called Republicans “domestic enemies.” I was shot because of this kind of unhinged rhetoric. Where’s the media outrage?” Scalise asked.

From The Blaze:
Pelosi was speaking to MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin about Russian election interference when she made the divisive comments.
“The Russians were there and they are there now 24-7, trying to interfere in our election. But they’re not the only ones, we take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic and sadly, the domestic enemies to our voting system and our honoring our Constitution are right at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with their allies in the Congress of the United States,” Pelosi said.
Mohyeldin responded during her diatribe with a stunned, “wow!”
Ohio Rep Brad Wenstrup, who rushed to Scalise’s side as a stream of blood trailed behind the Louisiana congressman in that 2017 shooting, shared Scalise’s tweet and echoed his words.
“Now THIS puts lives in danger. Believe me, I know firsthand. And, @SteveScalise knows better than anyone,” he said.

Illinois Rep Adam Davis also retweeted Scalise and called for Pelosi to apologize. He was at the scene of that shooting, which was done by a Bernie Sanders supporter.
“I was w/ @SteveScalise and others when a deranged, GOP-hating gunman opened fire on us. This rhetoric hurts our country. We may disagree on policy, but I would never call Dem colleagues in Congress enemies of the state. Speaker Pelosi should apologize for her dangerous rhetoric,” he said.
