The Supreme Court today gave GOP lawmakers a massive victory, voting 5-4 to keep Title 42 in place until at least June 2023.
Conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch surprised many as he joined the three liberals on the court in voting against the stay request.
Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott celebrated the news in a tweet where he declared, “BREAKING: Supreme Court orders Title 42 border restriction to be kept in effect.”

Gorsuch laid out his reasoning in his dissent as he said, “The current border crisis is not a COVID crisis. And courts should not be in the business of perpetuating administrative edicts designed for one emergency only because elected officials have failed to address a different emergency. We are a court of law, not policymakers of last resort.”

As we previously reported, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts granted a last-ditch effort to block the Biden administration from ending the Trump-era Title 42 policy.
With today’s decision, the Supreme Court agreed to hear oral arguments in February and rule on whether the states can intervene, with a decision due by the end of June.
Nineteen Republican state attorneys general had sought to intervene in defense of the policy after Washington-based U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan struck it down.
It was reported yesterday that a massive tent had been set up for illegal immigrants in anticipation of the order possibly expiring today.

We don’t discriminate any gender preference with anyone in office. Democrats are always defending this right but because this person involved with this is a Republican Democrats find it a reason to call for this Republican that’s involved to resign. I find this unjust due to the fact that there are many gay Democrats that are in office and they don’t say anything but since this man is a Republican he’s not qualified. I find this nonsense rediculous.
