Suspected Democrats Appear to Crash Glenn Youngkin Event in Charlottesville Holding Tiki Torches and Dressed Like 2017 Torch March Attendees

With poll numbers showing Democrat gubernatorial candidate and ex-governor Terry McAuliffe in a free fall, it appears that supporters chose to target a Charlottesville bus tour stop for Republican nominee Glenn Youngkin.

How far up the chain the conspiracy goes remains to be seen right now, but it began with five people holding tiki torches and dressing like the 2017 torch march attendees.

Local NBC29 reporter Elizabeth Holmes tweeted out this morning a picture of the group standing in front of the Youngkin tour bus and said, “These men approached @GlennYoungkin’s bus as it pulled up saying what sounded like, ‘We’re all in for Glenn.'”

“Here they are standing in front of the bus as his campaign event at Guadalajara started,” Holmes added.

Of course, one problem is that one of the “men” actually appeared to be a woman.

Journalist Alec Sears was the first to identify two of the “men” standing in front of the bus.

The first, he reported to be Camden Layton, who is the finance director for the Virginia Young Dems.

“Let’s take a look at this gentleman. He bears a strong resemblance to one Camden Layton, otherwise known as the finance director for @vayd. Coincidence? I report, you decide.”

Another one of the “men” that Sears identified was Colleen Wachenfeld with the Virginia Democrats.

“I am now confident that we have identified the woman in this group of political actors as Colleen Wachenfeld, with @vademocrats.”

Following the identification by Sears, both Layton and Wachenfeld locked down their profiles following the identification from Sears.

John Cardillo also appeared to identify another one of the torch holders as a Terry McAuliffe staffer, which would tie the situation directly to hiim.

“Hey @TerryMcAuliffe, your staffers are morons. #Caught

NBC29 released an article about the situation without checking into any of this, only getting quotes from the campaigns.

“I think they work for Terry McAuliffe, and I’m sure he sent them.” Youngkin stated, “They’ll do anything to win, and he’s doing anything to win, and so he’s paying people to show up and act silly at our rallies.”

In a statement, McAuliffe’s team denied the accusation and insisted, “This was not us or anyone affiliated with our campaign.”

Update:

Lincoln Project put out a statement appearing to take credit for the demonstration. The Lincoln Project Co-Founder recently spoke out in support of Terry McAullife.

Co-Founder of the Lincoln Project Reed Galen was quoted only a few days ago as saying, “The choice Virginians face on Election Day is stark — a candidate handpicked by Donald Trump or an honest and decent leader: Terry McAuliffe. Glenn Youngkin has run a campaign fueled by racism, anti-Semitism, and homophobia. He pretends to be two different candidates in two very different parts of the state, playing Virginians as fools. Voters are smarter than Youngkin gives them credit for and they’re going to prove it on November 2 by rejecting the kind of hate-driven politics Youngkin represents.”
