Failed Trump-hating Democrat and former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms announced today that she has joined CNN as a political commentator.
In a tweet, Bottoms declared, “I am thrilled to officially announce that I have joined @CNN as a Political Commentator.”
“As a @FAMU_1887 student, I applied for the coveted VJ program at @CNN and didn’t get in. To now join the team nearly 30 yrs later is a reminder that a dream deferred is never a dream denied,” Bottoms explained.

CNN’s headquarters are based in Atlanta as well so it means that Bottoms won’t have to move to begin her new career.
Bottoms previously decided not to seek a second term as mayor in May 2021 and made the announcement in an open letter.
It was speculated at the time she might be leaving to accept a position at Walgreens or be leaving the city of Atlanta.
At a press conference, however, Bottoms confirmed the public office plans but flatly rejected the idea that she would go work for Walgreens, where she is friends with CEO Rosalind Brewer, or leave the city of Atlanta.
Bottoms was also offered a job in Biden’s cabinet, but she “respectfully declined” according to her spokesperson.
In 2017, Bottoms won the Mayoral position in a runoff against candidate Mary Norwood and assumed office as the 60th mayor in the city’s history in 2018 during her inauguration at Morehouse College.
Bottoms officially left office this year after Mayor Andre Dickens, who won the November election, was sworn in on Jan. 3.
