Tucker Disappoints Right-Wing Twitter by Breaking the Golden Rule, ‘Don’t Eat the Bugs’

For fans of Tucker Carlson, haters, and those who were giving him another chance on the right-wing, it has been a wild ride. Many on the right like Fox News’ Carlson, even though he disappointed many with his anti-Sidney Powell coverage during the 2020 presidential election.

Tucker called out the fact that Democrats want to replace Republican voters by importing new Democrats through mass immigration. Some even alluded to the possibility that he was saying White Americans are being replaced. This earned back support from many who had no longer watched his show since the election, despite the controversial nature of that stance.

Nevertheless, Carlson disappointed many fans again last night. Although it may seem lighthearted, trivial, or even comical, the segment where Carlson ate a brownie with Cicadas in it was crossing a major line with right wingers on Twitter and elsewhere. It’s not just a meme, “I will not eat the bugs” is something many have been repeating for a long time.

This comes as the left continues to drive the cultural narrative in the United States, including with diet, such as the conversation about eating less meat, soy burgers, “fake” meat, and now eating bugs. Many people don’t see it as a novelty or a joke but a push from the left to replace the food supply altogether. Although that’s extremely unlikely to happen anytime soon, the “not eating bugs” sentiment has gained notariety and strong support.

Carlson knows all this but he thought this would be funny anyway apparently. It did not go well on Twitter and elsewhere, where disappointment in the air is so thick, it can be cut with a knife. In the clip below, Carlson acknowledges that his fans are probably not thrilled about eating bugs, but that for people who are “bug curious” he thought they might follow his lead. Watch:

Much more criticism can be found online. Time will tell if Carlson continues to talk about eating bugs or if this is a one time thing. Clearly his fan base is beginning to grow more and more skeptical.
