U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced today that she has reported comedian Jimmy Kimmel to the Capitol Police after he “jokingly” insinuates she should be assaulted by actor Will Smith.
In a tweet, Greene shared the clip of Kimmel’s bit, where he called her a “wo-klan-man” and then explained that she is “upset about the three Republican senators who said they’ll vote yes on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who’s nominated for the Supreme Court.”
Kimmel then read a tweet that Greene made on Monday where she said, “Murkowski, Collins, and Romney are pro-pedophile. They just voted for #KBJ.”
“Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him, huh?” Kimmel then asked as the crowd erupted in applause.
Greene declared in the tweet, “.@ABC, this threat of violence against me by @jimmykimmel has been filed with the @CapitolPolice.”
Former Lincoln Project Executive Director Fred Wellman was one of many who were triggered by Greene’s tweet as he replied to her tweet.
“I bet they laughed. Remember when you were filmed laughing and yucking it up in the safe room while they were attacked by your mobs outside? I’m sure they are super fans of you,” Wellman said while sharing a CNN article about Jan. 6.

It will be interesting to see if there are any reprocussions for Kimmel over the “joke” and it seems interesting that the Oscars assault is now comedic fodder.
