The salon owner who was forced to close her doors after U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s “illicit” blowout hair day has a lot to say. It was been one year since this huge Covid-19 related news. Pelosi says that although she wasn’t supposed to be at the salon maskless or at all, that it was a set-up. Erica Kious went on Fox News to clear the air recently, saying Pelosi threw her under the bus so to speak.
Pelosi said in an old clip replayed on Fox News: “this salon owes ME an apology”. Nevertheless, Kious received death threats and had to shutter her business though. Kious says she’s finally back to work, and has a new salon in Fresno, California, far away from San Francisco, where the shakeup occurred. She says she’s still in fear of lockdowns due to Covid-19 thanks to Governor Newsom.
Luckily, Kious says she’s up and running, for now anyway. But she doesn’t invest or advertise because she’s afraid of being shut down. The Fox News host asked Kious what she thinks of Pelosi claiming Kious owes her an apology.
“It’s almost like I’m in disbelief still, that someone can go on TV in front of the whole country, and pretty much, I’m going to say it, lie. Because her assistant did message the stylist the day before and make the appointment. I did not set her up. I had the cameras in there for over six years.”
Watch:
Fox News posted a marquee that said nearly 40,000 small businesses closed in California by 9/20 due to lockdowns. The host asked Kious if she knows other business owners who have lost it all.
“You know, a lot of people, um, I don’t, I just know that they shut down and boarded up.” She went on to say that Pelosi never reached out to the community despite all the closures and financial pain in San Francisco. It’s good to see Kious is back on her feet, and we do wish she thrives in her new business as well, similarly to what the Fox News host said.
It remains to be seen if more lockdowns are going to be imposed with the new variants spreading. San Francisco is reportedly looking to mandate vaccines for people who want to go to some places of business now. No word of if shoplifters who steal less than $1000 (since they don’t get arrested there for that) will have to be vaccinated when they steal their merchandise from stores just yet.
