It was announced late Friday night that there was an update on the Arizona 2020 election audit taking place in Maricopa County.
“Paper examination and counting are finished today,” the Maricopa Arizona Audit Twitter feed reported and added, “Thank you to all the amazing Arizona volunteers who made this audit possible!”

While there are rumors of how soon any information will be disseminated, according to AZ GOP State Sen Karen Fann nothing will be occurring Monday at least.
A report that suggested something would be released on Monday was dispelled by Fann where she said “Donât know where this is coming from. I certainly didnât say that. We still have work to do on the audit.”

The audit faces many detractors including GOP Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, who recently wrote an op-ed for Newsweek where he gave five reasons that he was speaking out against the audit.
Richer claimed:
1) Fann’s audit accused my office, under my control, of unlawful activity.
2) The audit is premised on a lie.
3) Choosing the Cyber Ninjas was incredibly inappropriate.
4) We need to accept individual responsibility as Republicans.
5) Republican Party turnout will suffer.
Richer listed a few Arizona Republicans who he claimed are against the audit including Gov. Doug Ducey, former Republican governor Jan Brewer, and Republican Arizona attorney general Mark Brnovich.
Brnovich, however, recently sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, who threatened to investigate the audit, where he wrote, “My office is not amused by the DOJâs posturing and will not tolerate any effort to undermine or interfere with our State Senateâs audit to reassure Arizonans of the accuracy of the election.”
“We stand ready to defend federalism and state sovereignty against any partisan attacks or federal overreach.â Brnovich declared.
