West Vancouver police are investigating skid marks that were left on a rainbow crosswalk, which was installed last week in celebration of LGBTQ pride and they claimed to have identified the driver.
Crosswalk update: We have identified the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident.

Thank you for those who have come forward with information.
Local reporter Sonia Aslam, said that the crosswalk was “damaged” by the driver and Const. Kevin Goodmurphy called it “a gesture of hate.” He said the burnout “very upsetting.”

Just last week a ceremony was held for the crosswalk. The police department at the time posted, “a big thank you to everyone who joined us today, for the official unveiling of our new #Pride crosswalk.”

Currently it is unknown what charges the driver may face and a photo has not yet been released.
