‘Will and Grace’ Star Debra Messing Calls to Dox CA Trump Fundraiser Attendees

Star of ‘Will and Grace’, Debra Messing, along with co-star Erick McCormack wants Trump supporters who attend a planned Beverly Hills fundraiser for President Trump’s 2020 campaign, named and shamed. In Hollywood, most people tend to vote for the Democrat ticket, and even more so, famous cultural icons, actors and other stars often but not always promote so-called progressive causes and Democrat candidates.

Actress Debra Messing, furious that Trump plans to be hosting a shindig in her neck of the woods blasted out a tweet. This was accompanied by a retweet of a post by Hollywood Reporter announcing the fundraiser. Messing says:

Please print a list of all attendees please. The public has a right to know.

Erick McCormack also fired off proverbial shots at the would-be Trump-supporting attendees, beckoning the Hollywood Reporters to do their due diligence to try to call out the folks going. Apparently these Hollywood folks want anyone supporting President Trump and his policies, not only disagreed with but to suffer monetary loss and be blacklisted from future Hollywood gigs because of their simple expressions of free speech. This free speech isn’t something controversial either but simply supporting the current President of the United States.

“Hey, @THR, kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with. Thx.”

According to Pagesix.com, they did receive some backlash of their own:

But the two-faced a storm of backlash from critics who accused them of modern-day McCarthyism. “What’s the difference between Joe McCarthy and Debra Messing?” asked Fox News host Greg Gutfeld. “One organized a witch hunt against law-abiding people with dissenting opinions. The other was a senator from Wisconsin.” “Labeling half of America as deplorable isn’t a winning strategy,” Trump communications director Tim Murtaugh told The Post. “Just ask Hillary.”

All too often the groupthink mentality that seems to control much of popular culture today dominates and scares people from expressing their views. Many left-leaning ‘Trump haters’ in the once red state of California are probably taken by surprise by the fundraiser simply because the state is such a solidly blue state, and they don’t see why Trump would even bother coming. Although it is likely that California will vote blue in 2020 for the presidential election, President Trump has many supporters in California and they have every legal right to fundraise and campaign, just as any other candidate of either party does.

To call for those expressing their opinions and voting with their wallets to be blacklisted or to publicly scold and shame them by saying you won’t work with them is a form of social tyranny. These actions, while being a form of free speech of their own, should be culturally unacceptable in our society, no matter what side of the political spectrum you lean towards.

President Trump tweeted out in response to Debra Messing this morning:

”I have not forgotten that when it was announced that I was going to do The Apprentice, and when it then became a big hit, helping NBC’s failed lineup greatly, @DebraMessing came up to me at an Upfront & profusely thanked me, even calling me “Sir.” How times have changed!”
