After Rioters Took Over Seattle City Hall, We Asked the City for an Update, ‘They Don’t Know’ is The Best They Can Do

Media Right News has received shocking reports of rioters setting ‘no go zones’ in Seattle, Washington, and taking over the city hall building. The no go zone appears to be comprised of armed Antifa and possibly BLM rioters and looters outside of a closed down police precinct.

Washington State GOP retweeted this by Brandi Kruse:

“Sources tell me @SeattlePD has no plan for what comes next with precinct. No plan to move things back in, etc., or reclaim area. Protesters have dubbed the surrounding blocks an autonomous zone, or more colloquially, “Free Capitol Hill.” #Q13FOX (Image taken Monday)”

This is a major U.S. city, weeks after the first violent protests over the tragic police-involved death of George Floyd began. We don’t yet have the slightest semblance of law and order in the country, contrary to what you may hear from some politicians or news outlets.

One report even claims that an elected official participated in the municipal Coup d’état. “Photos: Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant led protesters to occupy City Hall for about an hour this evening. Inside, people took turns speaking, sharing songs and repeatedly chanting about the removal of Mayor Jenny Durkan.” See tweet below:

We contacted the Seattle police headquarters and did not get an answer. We contacted Seattle City Hall and spoke with a woman who could neither confirm nor deny reports of city hall being taken over, or what the current status of the building is.

‘Carlisa’ is the woman who picked up the phone when we dialed the official city hall phone number for Seattle Washington. Carlisa tried to tell us as little as possible. She claims she is working remotely and does ‘not know’ whether or not the city hall has been overtaken by rioters. She eventually directed us to a media hotline and we left a voicemail with Melissa Nixon, who has yet to return our call. So as it stands, the official stance on Seattle’s city hall is ‘they don’t know’ and leave a voicemail.

The city’s stance on the rioters having a no go zone around a closed police department is apparently to not answer their phone at police headquarters, as far as we can find out, and we will update if we hear differently. This is one of the biggest cities in the United States and city officials have apparently buried their heads in the sand. Where is the leadership?

This was the scene last night outside city hall:

It’s reported that protesters left ‘peacefully’ last night, but the officials have yet to comment back to us. See tweet:

Fox 13 reported:

SEATTLE — Hundreds of protesters entered Seattle City Hall Tuesday night along with Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant.

People marched from Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood where Sawant held an event at Cal Anderson Park.

The protesters made their way into city hall and speakers were demanding change. They were heard calling for the resignation of Mayor Jenny Durkan.

Others held signs saying “Tax Amazon.”

UPDATE: We receive a phone call from Melissa Nixon who will be sending us a press release that is not yet ready in regards to the city hall situation, and we will do our best to update this story as we receive it. Nixon also told us that anyone wanting an update on the possible Antifa no gun zone can try the Public Affairs number at 206-684-0181 if the Seattle Police are unavailable for comment. Possible updates to come…

UPDATE 1:32 ET: See here to see an official response from the city of Seattle.
