Alec Baldwin Claims Lawsuits Over Fatal ‘Rust’ Shooting Are Targeting Him Because of His ‘Deep Pockets’

In a not-so-shocking development actor Alec Baldwin has claimed that lawsuits over the fatal “Rust” shooting are targeting him because of his “Deep pockets.”

During a moderated event at the Boulder International Film Festival on Saturday, Alec Baldwin insisted, “What you have is a certain group of people, litigants and whatever, on whatever side, who their attitude is, ‘well the people who likely seem negligent have no money and the people who have money are not negligent.”

Billed as a “special guest programmer” for the film festival, Alec Baldwin did not specify to which of the multiple lawsuits filed after the shooting he was referring, the report noted.

Alec Baldwin’s distant relative and fellow actor Adam Baldwin mocked the statement from Alec Baldwin in a tweet where he shared a story on it.

“IT’S NOT MY FAULT THAT I POINTED MY WEAPON AT MY CREW AND DROPPED THE HAMMER ON THAT BULLET! STOP SUING ME!!!” Adam Baldwin declared.

Previously, we reported that Alec Baldwin is among those being sued by the family of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was the woman who was fatally shot.

Hutchins’ husband, Matthew Hutchins, and son, Andros, are suing Alec Baldwin and others associated with the production of the western flick, of which the production is now indefinitely suspended.

Attorney Brian Panish had held a press conference in Los Angeles to announce the lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and “others who are responsible for the safety on set, and whose reckless behavior and cost-cutting led to the senseless, tragic death of Halyna Hutchins.”

Panish declared that his firm has conducted an independent investigation that he said uncovered “numerous violations of industry standards” by Alec Baldwin and the other defendants named in the complaint.
