It was reported on Tuesday that a group of 17 Republican House members, including Texas Rep. Chip Roy, sent a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi Tuesday urging her to “immediately remove” Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee.
Today, Roy appeared on Fox News to discuss the letter and reaffirmed his call to remove Swalwell from the committee.
“Unfortunately the Congressman… what he has done is endangered the United States of America,” Roy said.
Roy then proposed a scenario that would be similar in his opinion that would likely have been met with great outrage: “Imagine if you will, if he had done the same thing with a KGB operative in 1986, at the height of the Cold War.”
“We need to recognize right now that Communist China represents a dangerous threat to the United States of America and we should treat it accordingly,” Roy insisted.
Imagine if someone had done the same thing as Rep. Swalwell with a KGB spy at the height of the Cold War.

Yesterday, we reported that former DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse claimed that Swalwell “Should get a congressional Medal of Honor” for the way that he handled the situation.
Last week, we reported that Pelosi’s spokesman issued a statement which said that “The Speaker has full confidence in Congressman Swalwell’s service in the Congress and on the Intelligence Committee.”
