Update: The ADL posted a new tweet after deleting an earlier one, this time with a long explanation, acknowledging Trump’s “rightfully so” remarks, but still implying that he “played into antisemitic tropes” somehow simultaneously:
“Israel does not control Congress. U.S. support for Israel remains strong and bipartisan. As ADL has long said, these types of remarks play into tropes about “Jewish control” of government and are unacceptable.”

Original story:
Jonathan Greenblatt’s ADL took a big L today after trying to defame former President of the United States Donald Trump, accusing him of an antisemitic trope, when he was actually defending Israel.
Many in the America First movement only care about the United States and aren’t necessarily worried about other countries, but it’s clear to clarify what Trump meant in this situation for sure. Earlier we reported:
What the ADL missed though, was that when Trump mentioned Israeli influence in Congress, he had also added, “and rightfully so”. Many may or may not agree with this but the fact of the matter is that Trump was falsely accused of using an antisemitic trope, and then the ADL deleted the tweet, probably when they realized they were wrong.
We think they hate Trump so much they couldn’t muster up a tweet clarifying their mistake or apologizing. As Trump would say, SAD! The important part here is where Trump says, “rightfully so”. Huge L for Mr. Greenblatt’s ADL!
