This morning, U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) mounted a last-ditch procedural effort to delay passage of the $1.9 trillion “COVID relief bill,” which she denounced as a “massive woke progressive Democrat wish list.”
Greene moved to adjourn the House of Representatives and demanded a roll-call vote which ultimately failed by a 235-149 vote, with 40 Republicans voting with Democrats against adjourning the session.
After an initial tweet decrying the Republican vote for not being unanimous, Greene issued a statement where she said that, “As Republicans, we should use every single tool we have to stop the Democrats’ Hate America Socialist agenda.”
“Thank you to the 149 Republicans who stand with the People,” Greene added.

U.S. House Rep Jim McGovern (D-MA) tried to push the portion of the bill that will be going directly to Americans while criticizing Greene as he said, “It’s unconscionable that they are doing everything they can to try to, again, delay getting aid to the people, including their constituents who are in desperate need.”
Greene’s use of the word “tool” is reminiscent of what then Minority leader Chuck Schumer said in regards to resisting the confirmation of now Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, “there aren’t that many tools in the toolbox because McConnell has so defiled the Senate, but whatever tools there are, we’ll use.”
Clearly, the Democrats are singing a different tune now that they are the ones in power.
