New York Times Issues Correction on Kavanaugh Hit Piece

After three deleted tweets in the same week, the New York Times has now had to correct some statements in a piece written Saturday, slamming Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh over allegations from a new book. After the NYT Archives deleted a tweet praising Mao Zedong, the New York Times deleted a tweet implying planes were responsible for 9-11, and the New York Times opinion retracted two tweets about this Brett Kavanaugh story, the saga continues!

The Washington Examiner reports:

The report published Saturday evening was adapted from an upcoming book by reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly titled ‘The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation’ and due out Tuesday.

The Times reporters revealed the account of one of Kavanaugh’s male classmates at Yale University, Max Stier, who said he witnessed Kavanaugh make inappropriate sexual contact with a female student in the mid-1980s. Stier notified the FBI and senators about the incident. Although the FBI did not investigate the claim, two officials who communicated with Stier corroborated the story to the Times.

In the updated version of the article, the following passage was added: “The female student declined to be interviewed and friends say she does not recall the episode.”

“An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article,” read the editor’s note at the bottom of the story that was added Sunday evening.

All this just goes to show the apparent poor journalistic efforts that were made by what President Trump likes to refer to as ‘The Failing New York Times’.

The now corrected New York Times report, before the correction had been issued, had garnered attention from liberal activists and presidential candidates. Many began calls to impeach Justice Kavanaugh. Senator Kamala Harris who is also running for president tweeted out a slam against the SCOTUS member:

Embattled presidential candidate Julián Castro shot off his own version of the criticisms. He was recently chastised by members of both parties for an apparent attack on former Vice President Joe Biden at the most recent Democrat presidential primary debates apparently hitting him on his age.

Candidates Elizabeth Warren, would be AR-15 grabber Beto O’Rourke, and Amy Klobuchar also sounded off. It’ll be interesting to see if any of these tweets also get any corrections…

While President Trump defended Kavanaugh on Twitter, saying he should sue for libel, many other media outlets ran with this angle as well:

It is clear that the left is very insecure about President Trump’s recent picks for top judicial spots in the nation, including Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and many more in other courts. What’s a shame is that a shotty New York Times piece with incomplete information at best is enough to cause all these iconic Democratic figures to launch immediate calls for the impeachment of someone who has never been proven guilty of a thing in a court of law related to these weak allegations, including the ones of Christine Blasey Ford during Kavanaugh’s nominating process, that were never enough to keep Kavanaugh out of office, although they did drag himself and his family through what he called a living hell.
