Recently, two prominent Democrats were carjacked by criminals. One was Illinois Senator Kimberly Lightford. Another was U.S. House Rep Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA).
The Democrats are not happy that this happened in our view because it makes some of them consider pushing the brakes on their anti-police narrative. Fox News’ Peter Doocy grilled Psaki on the matter, and Psaki said that Biden never supported defunding the police.
Doocy to Psaki: “If the president is giving big cities historic levels of funding and members of congress are going home and getting carjacked at gunpoint, then what else can the president do, and what is the president going to do to keep people safe?”
Psaki: Well this is a priority for the president, I want to be clear that this proposal for additional funding for the cops program has been something the president proposed several months ago. The president has never supported defunding the police, he’s always been an advocate for adequate funding…”
Watch:
Joe Biden has claimed he never supported defunding the police on several occasions. But he has supported the group notorious for rioting and looting called Black Lives Matter. Some claim he’s flip-flopped on the issue. See our other stories that are related:
Stay tuned for more updates on the crime wave ripping through the nation. Many are blaming Covid-19, while Republicans are blaming weak-on-crime Democrats. Time will tell if the trend continues.
