45th President Donald Trump Puts to Bed Rumors of a Rift Between Him and Ron DeSantis: ‘Totally Fake News’

In an interview last night with Fox News’s Sean Hannity, the 45th President Donald Trump put to bed rumors of a rift between him and Florida GOP Gov Ron DeSantis, calling it “totally fake news.”

TPUSA’s Benny Johnson shared a clip of the exchange in a tweet that began with Hannity reporting that a “friend” of his had a conversation with DeSantis where the governor denied there was a rift.

“Is he right?” Hannity asked.

Trump responded by saying that he was right and pointed out how DeSantis was helpful to his presidency while he was in Congress.

Additionally, Trump said that he had encouraged DeSantis to run for Governor and that the press could never get in between their relationship.

It’s “totally fake news,” Trump declared.

Previously, we reported:

Sen Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has been accused by advisers of the former president of fueling the potential Trump-DeSantis rift.

Trump’s advisors pointed to the podcast Ruthless, which is co-hosted by McConnell’s longtime adviser Josh Holmes and where DeSantis made the attention-grabbing remarks.

According to NBC News, a top Trump adviser said, “I like Josh. Josh is great. But he’s a wholly-owned subsidiary of McConnell World. And there’s no way you can tell me that this was all a coincidence.”

The Trump adviser echoed four others who spoke on condition of anonymity because they didn’t have authorization to speak publicly about private discussions in his political shop.
