Candace Owens on GA Shooting: “Please Stop With the ‘Just a Jogger’ Narrative”

Candace Owens, the right-wing pundit and former Turning Point USA associate was recently suspended temporarily from Twitter for a tweet about the protests against the Michigan Coronavirus lockdowns put in place by Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Candace is back with a vengeance today, showing no sign of softening up her rhetoric on controversial posts. This time she is blowing the narrative out of the water that both mainstream Republicans and Democrats appear to be riding.

Owens shot off two tweets commenting on the Georgia shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery. Two men have been charged with murder, Gregory and Travis McMichael, 74 days after the incident. A video recently surfaced showing the incident and causing outrage among many. Owens is pushing back on the narrative that Arbery, was just out jogging, claiming that he was in fact, up to trouble the day he was shot.

This doesn’t mean he was justifiably shot, and she doesn’t claim that, but there appears to be some information in the story she doesn’t believe in. We are not claiming that the details stated by Owens are true or untrue, rather simply reporting on what she said. Her first tweet read:

“Ahmaud Arbery was caught on camera breaking into an unfinished property that was owned by Larry English.
His mother has confirmed it is him in the video.
Please stop with the “just a jogger” bullshit narrative.
Avid joggers don’t wear khaki shorts & stop to break into homes.”

She then retweeted her own tweet with a more general description of what her feelings appear to be:

“Still wondering why black Americans lag behind other races? Name one other race in America that protests and riots when their criminals die while commiting [sic] crimes.
It’s reverse Darwinism. Survival of the dumbest.
“Our criminals need justice” is a bottom-feeder mentality.”

See both below:

Big League Politics touched on another dissenter, former Fox News contributor and Filipino Michelle Malkin, who claims that certain “usual suspects” such as Shaun King and Lee Merrit are looking to “cash in” politically on the story. Big League reported in part:

Malkin noted that King and Merritt pushed a hate crime hoax in 2018 about Sherita Dixon-Cole, a black lady who accused a white law enforcement officer of raping her in Texas. King and Merritt crucified the policeman on social media before hours of body camera footage emerged showing that no sexual assault ever occurred. Dixon-Cole was never prosecuted despite her lies, showing how there is no punishment for perpetrating these cruel exploitative hoaxes.

Owens fired off two more fiery tweets during the writing of this article:

All criminals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law in this nation. Nevertheless, the court of public opinion can be a tough one. And this story is no exception. Two different sides are playing out in society and ultimately it’ll be up to a judge and a jury to decide what really went down.

UPDATE: Owens put out at least one more tweet in the tweetstorm from this afternoon, potentially summing up the tirade with:

“FACTS:

Blacks kill 2x as man whites as whites kill black, [sic] annually.
We commit 85% of all violent crimes, 50% of all murders.
Over 90% of blacks killed by homicide are killed by other blacks.

BUT LET’S KEEP LYING TO BOTH OURSELVES AND THE PUBLIC & KEEP BLAMING RACISM.”
