Kayleigh McEnany, the rockstar White House press secretary, took off running when a reporter asked a question about defunding the police. Specifically, the question was directed at President Trump, and whether or not he will entertain the ideas coming from Democrat cities to defund the departments of law enforcement.
McEnany started off by saying that since Los Angeles, California defunded the policed by $150 Million dollars, they saw an almost immediate increase of murders by 250%. McEnancy then slammed Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) comments about calling the police “a cancer”.
Kayleigh took it up a notch though when she referred to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) and her recent outlandish comments that the rise in New York City’s crime was related to people stealing bread because they’re hungry due to Covid-19.
“Most egregious of all really, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez saying defund the police means defund the police. She criticized, of course, the announcement of 1.5 billion dollars being taken down from NYPD. This weekend there were 28 shootings in New York, a 600% increase from this time last year, you have AOC saying that this is just people trying to get food to their families. That is preposterous.”
AOC on increased NYC crime: "Maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren't paying their rent & are scared to pay their rent & so they go out & they need to feed their child & they don't have money so… they feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry." pic.twitter.com/oHSTWWJZ6a

McEnancy goes on to lambaste the Democrats and highlights the spikes in crime. Watch below:
Most rational people likely don’t want to defund the police, but the real referendum will be the voter’s actions this November. Meanwhile, Kayleigh is still hitting it out of the park since taking her new job as White House press secretary, at that is showing no signs of slowing anytime soon.
