GoFundMe Allows Food Truck Group to Raise Money to Feed Lawless Rioters and Looters but Bans Conservatives

An organization called RiotKitchen206 is feeding rioters in Portland and Seattle, and raising money to do it, some of the donations are anonymous. See a few of their tweets below:

And from last night:

Many more public tweets are on their feed.

While they don’t explicitly say it, this ‘Food Truck’ organization is dedicated to feeding rioters in Portland and Seattle, many of which are breaking laws and violently destroying property, including federal property. The purpose of feeding the rioters appears to be to keep them artificially engaged and on the streets longer than they might have normally stayed, which could indeed contribute to illegal activities, albeit indirectly.

It’s unclear just how many people they are feeding, or if the organization actually supports any illegal activity. But with ‘riot’ in the name, one can draw one’s own conclusions…

The official GoFundMe purpose is stated as:

Hey everyone!! We’re RIOT KITCHEN, and we are a no charge kitchen serving protestors, activists, movements and those in need in Seattle WA.

We were founded by Maehem, a queer black woman who started out by wanting to help feed the protestors at The George Floyd protests in Seattle, WA
During CHOP we built a full functioning kitchen in Cal Anderson, with a experienced kitchen staff and a array of vegan, gluten free, vegetarian and other dishes

These include:
Vegan and meat kebabs, a plethora of hot and cold sandwiches, vegan sloppy joes, vegan chili Mac, vegetarian chili Mac, vegan and meat breakfast sandwiches, vegan/vegetarian/meat burritos and much more!

We want to continue RIOT KITCHEN on and into the future to keep serving our community!

To do that, we need a food truck and licensing. We need about $40,000 to make this happen!

This fundraiser is run by direct supporters of Maehem and her work, namely Maehem’s right hand “Grandpa” as well as Jennifer Scheurle.
Please support us in enabling this wonderful project and its caring people to enrich Seattle’s community now and in the future.

There’s nothing illegal about feeding people and nothing in their description says they either support or condone illegal activity done by rioters, but you can look up the definition of a riot, and it’s not a peaceful thing. Wikipedia describes it as a “violent public disturbance against authority, property, or people”. Some of the rules stated on GoFundMe’s terms include:

Without limiting the foregoing, you agree:

  1. not to use the Services to raise funds or establish or contribute to any Campaign with the implicit or explicit purpose of or involving:
    1. the violation of any law, regulation, industry requirement, or third-party guidelines or agreements by which you are bound, including those of payment card providers and transaction processors that you utilize in connection with the Services;
    2. any election campaigns that are not run by a registered organization within the supported country;
    3. User Content or campaigns that are fraudulent, misleading, inaccurate, dishonest, or impossible;

We tweeted out to GoFundMe but no response as of yet.

GoFundMe recently suspended popular conservative Candace Owens for raising money for an Alabama business that came under siege after the owner made political commentary about the tragic George Floyd situation:
