Although it is largely reported that Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election back in November, everyone not living under a rock knows that President Trump has claimed it to be a contested election. The reported votes clearly show Biden won and we don’t dispute that.
What is disputed, however, is the legitimacy of many of the votes in key swing states by the Trump campaign. Many Republicans and almost all Democrats have fought against transparency, whether or not you believe there was enough fraud to overturn the results or not.
All this being said many Republican Senators and House Reps led by Ted Cruz (TX) in the Senate and Mo Brook (AL) in the House are going to be objecting to the certification of Joe Biden on January 6th.
Tom Cotton (R-AR)was always thought of as one of the best hardline conservatives and Trump supporters, but many in the America First faction have called him out as weak, not strong enough on immigration, and not up to the fight so to speak.
Cotton is now proving he wasn’t the tough guy he pretended to be, folding like a cheap suit. Regardless of where you stand on the issue itself, it’s clear he’s not loyal to President Trump. The Hill reported in part:
“JUST IN: GOP Sen. Cotton breaks with conservative colleagues who will oppose electoral vote count”

It’s not likely the results will be easily overturned on January 6th. But some Republicans are doing everything in their power anyway, as they feel their grievances have not been given a fair shake, and that censorship on social media and Fox News trending leftward has left many Trump supporters voiceless.
The Hill says that Cotton may run for president in 2024. This likely just killed his chances in our view. They also reported in part:
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), a possible contender for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, broke with his rivals Sunday night by announcing he will not object to the counting of electoral votes on Jan. 6.
Cotton warned that an effort spearheaded by Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), two other 2024 White House hopefuls, to challenge the electoral votes of several swing states that went for President-elect Joe Biden could “establish unwise precedents.”
While Cotton said he is concerned about how the 2020 presidential election was carried out, such as changes to election law allowing mail-in ballots arriving after Election Day to be counted, he argued it is up to the states and the courts — not Congress — to handle election laws.
The fight will continue as long as President Trump refuses to concede and it’s tough to say what other tricks the Trump camp may have left, so stay tuned.
