Following the situation yesterday at the Capitol Building in Washington D.C., Democrats appear to be seizing on the incident to consolidate political power, now that they will have a majority in both the Legislative and Executive branches and Republicans are on the defensive.
Democratic House Rep. Jimmy Gomez (CA) took to Twitter today and quote tweeted a Vanity Fair article that had as the caption, “Mo Brooks, Josh Hawley, and Ted Cruz made this happen.”
Gomez took it a step further and said, “The blame for the violence & destruction at the Capitol doesn’t rest with @realDonaldTrump alone. He had accomplices like @mtgreenee, @SenTedCruz, @HawleyMO & @RepMoBrooks.
“Those who stoke insurrection & spread conspiracies have blood on their hands too. They must be expelled,” Gomez claimed.

House Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA), who was tagged in his tweet, quote tweeted Gomez and responded by insisting, “I fully condemn ALL violence.”
Greene then tagged a group of Democratic politicians and said, “The Antifa/BLM terrorism funded on ActBlue rests with Democrat accomplices like @CoriBush@Ilhan@KamalaHarris@AOC@timkaine & many more…”
“Those who stoke insurrection & spread conspiracies have blood on their hands. They must be expelled,” Greene concluded, using the same words, Gomez had used in his tweet.

Greene later shared a tweet from her appearance on Newsmax where she said, “Many people have bailed on President Trump and they’re blaming him today.
“Many of these same Republicans that are doing that are the ones that rode his coat tail,” Greene added about those who appear to be trying to move on with the Republican party minus the president.
