We reported earlier about how U.S. House Rep Cori Bush (D-MO) used her time on the House floor to speak about the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to hint that she believes law enforcement should be abolished.
Tonight, House lawmakers passed the “police reform” bill that would ban chokeholds and eliminate qualified immunity for law enforcement.
The record showed that the vote was 220-212 with 2 Democrats voting against it and one Republican voting for it.

The Republican who supposedly voted in favor of the bill was Texas Rep Lance Gooden.
Gooden issued a tweet shortly thereafter vehemently denying that it was his intention of voting for the bill.
“I have arguably the most conservative/America First voting record in Congress! Of course I wouldn’t support the radical left’s, Anti-Police Act,” Gooden explained.
Sharing a picture in the tweet showing a “personal explanation” of his changed vote, Gooden added, “I have changed the official record to reflect my opposition!”

Democratic Reps Lance Golden (ME) and Ron Kind (WI) were the lone “no” votes from their party against the bill.
The bill now heads to the Senate where 10 Republicans would need to join Democrats in order to pass, as it requires 60 votes, which seems unlikely.
