Last week New York State Troopers raided the home of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren. Major Barry Chase addressed reported saying, “We’re conducting a criminal investigation at 93 Woodman Park in the city of Rochester I will confirm that it is the residence of city of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and it’s an ongoing investigation. We’ll have more for you as soon as we can.”

The Major didn’t allow for questions items were removed from the home.

According to Rochester City Newspaper, “Justin Roj, the mayor’s spokesperson, released a brief statement at 6:55 p.m. that read: “The mayor is just learning about the events that unfolded this afternoon and has no more information than the rest of the community. She hopes to learn more details this evening and will have a statement tomorrow.”

The next day, prosecutors revealed that the Mayor’s husband Timothy Granison was involved in a drug ring in Rochester.

10 NBC Anchor Nikki Rudd tweeted, “BREAKING UPDATE: Prosecutors says Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren’s husband, Timothy Granison was involved in a drug ring in Rochester. Here’s a clip from his arraignment. NEW DETAILS: • 7 people arrested so far • 7-month investigation that included wire taps • 2 kilos of powder and crack cocaine • $60k street value • Four guns seized • $100k+ cash recovered”

Warren made public for the first time after this that she separated from her husband years ago. NBC Reported, “The mayor said she’s not a target of the probe against husband Timothy Granison, but questioned whether the timing of his arrest is tied to her current bid for a third term at City Hall.

“I find the timing of yesterday’s events, three weeks before early voting starts, to be highly suspicious,” she said during a five-minute address on Thursday defending herself. “There’s nothing implicating me in these charges announced today, because I’ve done nothing wrong.”

Warren was indicted in 2020 with felony charges alleging campaign finance violations. The specific charges are a scheme to defraud in the first degree and violating state election law. While all of this is going on Warren is seeking a third term as Mayor of Rochester, New York.
