Houston TV Reporter Who Went Rogue Live on the Air Goes to Project Veritas, Suspended from Local Fox Affiliate

A local Fox affiliate news reporter named Ivory Hecker has gone rogue, making national headlines. She claims she has been feeding info from her job to the right-wing investigative company called Project Veritas. That is because she feels her bosses are “muzzling” her from saying what she really wants to say.

The most newsworthy portion of this story is how she goes off the script, live on TV. Many may call something like this career suicide. People who disagree with her opinions may also have other nasty things to say about the whole situation. But many who do agree with her might perhaps see her as some sort of hero. It’s all in the eyes of the beholder, really.

Newsweek reported:

Hecker made the unusual announcement during a live broadcast on Fox station KRIV on Monday. While expected to report on a local heatwave, she said that the channel’s parent company had been “muzzling” her and other reporters to keep quiet about unspecified “information” before announcing that “behind the scenes” recording would be shared on Tuesday.

“I want to let you, the viewers, know that Fox Corp has been muzzling me to keep certain information from you, the viewers,” Hecker said. “And from what I’m gathering I am not the only reporter being subjected to this. I am going to be releasing some recordings about what goes on behind the scenes at Fox because it applies you, the viewers.”

Project Veritas apparently confirmed to NewsWeek that the collaboration was happening. It’s unclear exactly what will be happening. James O’Keefe has been censored on Twitter for his work with Project Veritas. Nonetheless, he continues to do what he feels is necessary in exposing left-wing bias and other things in the media. We are also hearing that this reporter has been suspended from her job. We don’t know if it will be permanent.

Managing Producer of Breaking News for Alabama Media Group, Jeremy Gray tweeted out, that he finds this whole situation fascinating.

“Fox 26 Houston reporter Ivory Hecker was about to present a segment on a heatwave when she stopped and said: “Before we get to that story, I want to let you the viewers know that (Fox Corporation) has been muzzling me.” I find this endlessly fascinating.”

Here is a video talking about the suspension, posted by Project Veritas:

“Alright, I wanted to call you and let you know that you are suspended immediately pending further review” says Hecker’s boss. Watch:

We will update this developing story as we are able to.
