Tesla CEO Elon Musk is still under fire for how successful he is by mostly Democrats. Many want him to pay taxes on unrealized gains. Jeff Bezos, the second richest man in the world, has received less scrutiny though, possibly because he’s a Democrat himself.
We don’t really know much about Musk’s politics other than he may be slightly right of center, which means you’re a radical extremist in the eyes of many Democrats. That rings especially true for someone as successful and potentially powerful as Musk.
It was only a matter of time before Democrats went after him. U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) quote tweeted Musk’s tweet proposing selling some stock to pay some taxes: “Whether or not the world’s wealthiest man pays any taxes at all shouldn’t depend on the results of a Twitter poll. It’s time for the Billionaires Income Tax.” to which Musk replied: “Why does ur PP look like u just came?”

This is a reference to his profile picture on Twitter of course. It will be interesting to see what types of responses come from this and how far the attacks go against Musk, who insists that government spending is a far bigger issue than wealth allocation.
We previously reported on Musk warning people of “government tricksters”:
As of now, it looks like Musk will be selling 10% of his Tesla stock based on a Twitter poll asking users what they think he should do.
Much is made lately of unrealized gains being a means of tax avoidance, so I propose selling 10% of my Tesla stock.
