In a video that you can see here as posted by ‘BayNews9’ in Tampa, Florida, a man named Jeremy King is interviewed and tells a scary story about surviving an attack by a home intruder. The interesting twist here is that he survived because his wife was able to stop the attacker, with none other than the gun Democrats say people don’t need for protection, an AR-15.
“I’ve got a fractured eye socket, a fractured sinus cavity, a concussion, 20 stitches and three staples in my head,” said King, outside his home on Old Welcome Road in Lithia. “I took a severe beating.”
This is what King said to Bay News 9. Two masked men Wednesday apparently broke into his home around 9 PM on Wednesday. They were armed, masked and hooded and had a gun on King and grabbed his 11-year-old daughter.
Jeremy King’s 8 months pregnant wife was in another room, apparently unbeknownst to the intruders, and while they pistol-whipped him after he told them he had nothing much of value to offer, the wife peeked out from the room she was in to see what was happening.
King said one of the men shot at his wife, and what happened next took everyone by storm. King’s wife came back out of the room with a vengeance, and an AR-15 and she wasn’t messing around. It appears she shot and killed one of the intruders and the other one took off. While Jeremy suffered a violent attack, the family was saved, and an amazing story of heroic bravery of a woman protecting her unborn and born family is told.
The dead man was found in a ditch later by deputies. King mentioned how he felt the AR-15 trumped the men’s pistols, giving the law-abiding homeowners a fair shot at survival:
“Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it,” King said. “[My wife] evened the playing field and kept them from killing me. “
It appears as though the other suspect is on the run, but likely not to return to that residence again.
Hillsborough County deputies are on the case of the crime that was committed in Lithia, Florida.
The New York Post covered the story and reported in part:
Police said in a press conference that they found the man’s dead body lying in the ditch nearby. The second suspect was on the loose.
The homeowner said he took a “severe beating,” but credited his wife for saving him.
“I’ve got a fractured eye socket, a fractured sinus cavity, a concussion, 20 stitches and three staples in my head,” said King.
“Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it. [My wife] evened the playing field and kept them from killing me.”
The sheriff’s office added that the firearm was in the home legally.
