Civil rights lawyer Leo Terrell hit back at Joy Reid today after she apparently decided to defend looters recently in order to attack Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis.
As we previously reported, Reid compared DeSantis to a segregationist:
“’When the looting starts, the shooting starts.’—segregationist Miami sheriff Walter E. Headley, 1967 Didn’t take DeSantis long to return to form.”
Terrell declared in a tweet today, “Joy Reid is racist! Joy Reid is an embarrassment!”

Reid’s tweet has been badly ratioed with many wondering what race she believes most looters to be and wondering how it is that she could compare DeSantis to a segregationist.
One verified former GOP congressional candidate asked Reid, “Damn… you automatically assumed black people would be looting?”
“Sad of you to think so lowly of blacks,” he lamented.

Twitter user marilyn maupin wondered, “How is it racist?” and added, “Youre the one assuming looters will be black.”

Reid’s tweet got her trending on Twitter, leading many liberals to Terrell’s tweet, where they defended the MSNBC show host.
“I love Joy Reid. I’m so glad she has her own show. Do you?” one asked Terrell. Terrell hosts both a radio show and podcast, in addition to being a Fox News contributor.
