Ted Cruz’s 14-Year-Old Daughter Taken to Hospital, Spokesperson Says She’s Okay

U.S. Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX) reportedly had a scare last night as his 14-year-old daughter Caroline was taken to the hospital.

After the news went public, a spokesperson from Cruz’s office issued a statement on the situation.

“This is a family matter, and thankfully their daughter is okay. There were no serious injuries.  The family requests that the media respect their daughter’s privacy at this time.”

Conservatives and some on the left shared their concern, although a few on the left also decided to take shots at Cruz over the situation.

U.S. House Rep Mayra Flores (R-TX) said in a tweet, “My thoughts and prayers are with the entire @tedcruz family. I pray for his daughters full recovery.”

In another tweet, ACT For America’s Brigitte Gabriel echoed the words of the spokesperson as she said, “Praying for Senator Ted Cruz and his entire family, now let’s leave it at that and respect their privacy.”

Democrat commentator Ron Filipowski offered his support as well in a tweet where he suggested that “Anyone who has ever had a teenage daughter will give Ted Cruz a break today.”

His choice of words, however, wasn’t satisfactory for some, as one Twitter user told him in response, “Teenage daughter. You make it sound like it’s only girls who have teen issues. Never needed a break raising my teenage daughters. I’m not giving Ted a break. I’m giving Caroline a break for having to be his kid!!!”

Filipowski shot back exasperatedly, “Yes, you got it all figured out. That’s exactly what I am saying. Sometimes social media can such a pleasure. Enjoy your day.”
