At the December 6th Special School Board meeting for Upper Moreland School District, a suburb of north Philadelphia, Jennifer Solot said she was against voting for a “cis, white male” for board president. She has now resigned and apologized for her “poorly chosen words”.
The two nominees were April Stainback and Greg D’Elia. Solot stated, “I believe that Mr. D’Elia would make an excellent president.” She then went on to explain why she couldn’t vote for him.
“However, I feel that electing the only cis white male on this board, president of this district sends the wrong message to our community,” she continued. “Sends the message that is contrary to what we as a board have been trying to accomplish. I think that it is important that we practice what we preach. And that our words have strength when they are spoken, whether we speak them from the neighborhood sidewalks or from behind these tables.”
Solot went on to commend Stainback and cited her performance over the past couple of months as the other reason she would be voting for her.
Stainback went on to receive 8 of the 9 votes and kept her position as board president.
On Monday, Susan Elliott district superintendent along with Stainback released a statement announcing that Solot had resigned effective January 2nd.
The statement distanced the rest of the school board from the comments made by Solot. It also addressed that her comments offended many within the community and that it had a “significant impact on… our entire community”.
It appears that Solot’s comments were unnecessary if she truly believed that Stainback deserved to stay school board president. She took the opportunity allotted to her by her position to grandstand over diversity and to bash a white male for being just that.
With more and more progressivism being pushed at schools, parents and community members have been fighting back against what they view as indoctrination of their children.

Joe Biden says it’s antisemitic to be against gay and trans people. So, is it prosemitic to be anti cis gender. Confused.
