Best Actress Oscars Award Winner Appears to Take Don Lemon to Task Over ‘Prime’ Comment in Acceptance Speech

In her acceptance speech last night, Best Actress Oscars award winner Michelle Yeoh appeared to take CNN’s Don Lemon to task over recent comments he made.

Yeoh described the award, which she won for her role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” as a “beacon of hope.”

“Dreams do come true. And ladies, don’t let anybody tell you you’re past your prime,” Yeoh then declared.

Lemon had previously attempted to dismiss Nikki Haley’s 2024 presidential bid by suggesting that she was past her prime.

As we previously reported, CNN CEO Chris Licht shared in an internal email, he had a “frank and meaningful conversation,” with Lemon. During the talk, Lemon agreed to take part in some training.

Lemon was briefly removed from the program, but was reinstated not long thereafter.

During the CNN morning show today, the win by Yeoh was discussed, but not her apparent dig at Lemon. A clip was played, but not the part where she made those remarks.

Lemon took another route by suggesting, “With all of the anti-Asian hate that has been going on in the country, especially since COVID, I thought it was a really important and reaffirming moment for Asian Americans.”

“I hope that, you know, they feel it in this country and that everyone does,” Lemon added.
