Morgan Wallen is on top of the Billboard Hot 100 with his single “Last Night”, much to the dismay of the liberal media and politically correct Democrats who tried to cancel the country legend.
This was his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and it comes two years after the liberal media failed at canceling him.
He has also broken the record for most singles on the list at one time with 36 of his songs from his new album “One Thing at a Time”. That record was previously held by Drake who had 27 at one time.
Wallen rose to fame as a competitor of “The Voice” in its 6th season.
Wallen has had a couple of different controversies over the few years that the he received backlash for, but he seems to be un-cancelable.
In October 2020 during the pandemic, Wallen was drinking and making out with women in bars and partying in Alabama without a mask on, and videos and pictures were shared online. Alabama was under a statewide mask mandate and social distancing order.
Saturday Night Live (SNL) then canceled his performance as a result of breaking COVID-19 restrictions. Wallen shared on Instagram, “My actions this past weekend were pretty short-sighted and they have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams.”
In December of 2020, SNL had Wallen on. He and Jason Bateman poked fun at his breaking the COVID-19 restrictions.
In February of 2021, TMZ shared footage of Wallen using the “N-word” while talking to a friend as they returned to his home after a night out.
The following day Wallen’s music was pulled from radio stations across the United States and he was suspended by his record label.
Wallen then issued an apology for his remarks, “I have one favor to ask. I appreciate those who still see something in me and have defended me,” he said. “But for today, please don’t. I was wrong. It’s on me to take ownership for this. And I fully accept any penalties I’m facing. Our actions matter, our words matter. And I just want to encourage anyone watching to please learn from my mistakes.”
He was also banned from attending the American Music Awards that year.
Things began to turn around for Wallen, as people seemed to move on from the media drama. Wallen performed at the Billboard Music Awards in 2022.
Wallen now has his first ever Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and many more singles on the chart as well.
