Unemployed Brian Stelter Parrots Rachel Maddow’s Dismissal of Donald Trump’s Primetime Mar-a-Lago Speech

An unemployed Brian Stelter yesterday parroted MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow’s dismissal of former President and 2024 GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s primetime Mar-a-Lago speech.

Stelter shared a clip that was posted in a tweet by ACYN which showed Trump’s speech appearing on MSNBC.

MSNBC, however, didn’t appear to be necessarily showing the speech in its entirety as Maddow said that the network would “monitor the remarks” and if there was anything that they determined to be newsworthy, they would report on them.

Maddow was discussing the speech and said, “So far he is just giving his normal list of grievances. We don’t consider that necessarily newsworthy and there is a cost to us as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things.”

In his tweet, Stelter added, “It’s worth underscoring what @Maddow said on MSNBC tonight: ‘There is a cost to us as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things.’ There is a cost.”

As we previously reported, Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany, however, offered advice to former President and 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump after his Mar-a-Lago speech seized a primetime audience.

During an appearance on Jesse Watters’ Fox News show, McEnany advised that Trump should “Flip the script on the left.”

McEnany shared a quote tweet which showed Trump’s speech airing on all the major networks.

“President @realDonaldTrump is on nearly every television channel,” McEnany, Trump’s former press secretary, reported.

McEnany then suggested, “He should use the moment to say ‘they are focusing on Me, but this is about YOU the American People’ and then share his 2024 vision.”
